Social Anthropology Center at VMU cordially invited everybody who was interested in ethnographic research and environmental anthropology to the public seminar „Postpeasant Cosmopolitics: The Making of an Ethnographic Film“ by Eunice Blavascunas (Whitman College, US). For more than twenty years Eunice Blavascunas has been doing research on conservation politics in nature preserves in Eastern Europe and published the book „Foresters, Borders and Bark Beetles: The Future of Europe’s Last Primeval Forest„. She was welcomed to Lithuania by VMU Vytautas Kavolis Interdisciplinary Professorship.
Eunice Blavascunas introduced the ethnographic documentary film ‘Black Stork White Stork’ (2014) and talked about complications of making alliances in the heated conflicted zone of the Białowieża Forest in Poland.
